It’s hard to please everyone and Khloé Kardashian just got slammed on her Instagram for posing under a sign that says Fidel and graffiti championing the revolution. Never thought I’d say it, but Obama and Khloé had similar plights, when people slammed him for giving a speech at Plaza de la Revolución in Havana, under an image of Che Guevara. Friday afternoon to Monday morning. I love traveling light and a quick jaunt down to the Caribbean with no formal plans calls for just that.
It’s my favorite time of the fashion year. The Chanel resort collection! Whether in Dallas, the South of France the French house spares no expense invoking exactly the essence of why resort collections were created. This year’s exotic locale was non other than place of the mo’ Havana, Cuba. I definitely wish I had Chanel resort for my strut down the Paseo del Prado. The fashion: So French-Cuban. That beret is so Parisian, non? But so Cuban, remember the image of Che Guevara. Panama hats with Chanel camellias, the accessories are on point! Fedoras and cohíbas. There is even some revolutionary nods with a military green shorts set. The collection is so wearable and so easy. Chanel’s new It Girls? Speaking of French-Cuban, Ibeyi, musical group consisting of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Díaz opened the show. You might have seen these beauties in Lemonade. Their performance is especially poignant given that their father is the late famed Cuban percussionist, Anga Díaz. Fashion and travel? This is one fashion party I have serious FOMO about. …
Instead of a bouquet, gift mom with a whole garden and go to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this weekend and catch their amazing cherry blossom orchard while it is still in bloom!
