Maybe I’m aging myself but I live for those days with a disposable camera at every table at a party. Getting the film developed was so much fun. I must also admit that I am a selfie visionary, taking selfies with disposable cameras as early as the 90s (you know when there were 20 photos and you only took 17 but you were going to the pharmacy that day?). If I liked my sunglasses or I liked my hair that day, I’d take a selfie, arm and all. When everything lives online — I wasn’t so convinced of that back in the day and did have a pledge save ALL of my Facebook photos onto a CD-rom — it’s pretty awesome when you have print photos of the memories, something tangible and very rarely do I print my photos. This summer, traveling around with my Fujifilm Instax, I absolutely fell in love. There’s something to be said about waiting for the right moment. And the film’s pretty expensive so you don’t want to waste it on just anything. Here’s the first of a photo diary series I’m doing with just my photos from my Fujifilm Instax camera from my trip to Kaua’i & Oahu, Hawaii.
Enjoy!
