Thank You – A Reflection on 2016

Porto, Portugal by Heather Walker

Last year at years end, I did this video. This year, while I am no less grateful and have a drive chock full of videos of the new and amazing experiences that I’ve had (and still excited to share with you on ‘N A Perfect World) I thought my thank you and year end note to you guys should be a retrospective of a different tone — more introspective. Funnily enough, last year’s video was set to Big Sean’s Paradise and as I’m writing this, I have Big Sean’s Bounceback on repeat in my head. Is Big Sean writing the story of my life?! This year has been one of a lot of ups and downs, personal tragedies and triumphs. I’ve crumpled with grief and felt I didn’t want to get out of bed and I’ve danced the night away in a European city smiling and laughing with someone I adore, all within a few months. I’ve been blessed by the Hawaiian sunrise and felt the curse of the French wine gods more times than I want to say — always well worth it though. Great pain this year taught me that joy should never be squandered.

Use your time wisely. Every moment produce beautiful thoughts, loving, kindness, forgiveness. Say beautiful things, inspire, forgive, act physically to protect and help. We know we are capable of producing beautiful karma for good continuations and the happiness of other people. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

I’m ready for 2017. I’m looking forward to this new year with new hope. New Year’s Eve is just like every other night, except there’s a magic of possibilities in the air. The possibilities to do better, try more, love more, laugh more, take more risks, break the fucking ceiling.

I’m not a big resolutions person or at least New Years resolution, but I do resolve to not take any moment for granted, love on my loved ones, and spread positivity.

Thank you guys for continuing this journey with me and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
