Generally speaking — and it often comes as a surprise for many people — I don’t love shopping in stores. I get tired, I get cranky and, call me spoiled, but I love a curated shopping experience. That’s where concept stores come in. I love love love concept stores. Few stores set the industry standard for concept stores better than Colette in Paris. Founded in 1997 by Colette Roussaux, the store has become an icon, championing street wear before it was a thing, doing collabs with big and small designers and just being overall, dope. It’s one of my favorite stops in Paris and I’m really sad to see it go. Luckily this summer I got to spend some time there and say my goodbyes.
Au revoir Colette, we’ll miss you.
