Whiskey and cream. Few things go better. Have you ever had an Irish coffee? Or Bailey’s and Cream? One of my favorite ice cream shops in New York, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. in Williamsburg is changing this game this St. Patrick’s Day with the launch of a flight of whiskey ice creams! For $13 here are the boozy scoop trio options available:
- Dead Rabbit Irish Coffee ice cream made with Clontarf Irish Whiskey (this one’s also available by the pint for $12)
- Knappogue Castle 14 Year Single Malt Irish Whiskey ice cream with sherry syrup
- Burnt Marshmallow ice cream with a Knappogue Castle 12 Year wash
Doesn’t look like I’ll be making it to Ireland for whiskey tastings for St. Patrick’s Day but Clontarf & Knappogue Castle are delicious choices. Knappogue Castle 12 Year Single Malt Irish Whiskey is made exclusively from malted barley dried in ovens without the use of peat. It uses a pure Irish spring water and produces a deliciously smooth taste with a hint of spices. Clontarf is triple distilled, aged in bourbon barrels and mellowed over Atlantic Irish Oak charcoal. The flavor is delicious. I’ll see you guys at Odd Fellows!
