Through rain and shine I saw beautiful people (and the SMILES) on the Parkway living it up. And I’m sitting here in my apartment writing this and getting distracted with hit after hit blasting in the street, Bob to Buju to Biggie… I love Brooklyn.
It’s such a fun oasis in the city — great pool, yummy food, well lit lobby. Some parts are zen, some parts are bustling like Grand Central Terminal.
On August 2nd the first annual Secret Summer food and cocktail festival is taking place at the Foundry in Long Island City. Inspired by the A Mid-summer Night’s Dream theme I had a little fun with cinematographers Brandon Taylor & Eric Branco at Brooklyn’s Botanic Gardens.

One of the coolest things about living in New York City is that it’s a foodie’s paradise. It’s not just the world-renowned restaurants but NYC is a melting pot, home to so many cultures and ethnic groups that have made the United States their home and almost all of these groups have their own food scenes in their enclaves of the city. The first: Flushing, Queens! Flushing’s been getting attention lately with Queens Night Market starting this past April: over a hundred vendors, delicious food, art, performances from 6pm – midnight every Saturday from now until October. Get there! A 10 year old girl of Indian descent, who I recently interviewed, gushed about how much she loved living in Flushing and called it a “porridge pot.” I’m going to go with that, Flushing is a delicious porridge pot …
Today was an absolutely gorgeous day in Brooklyn. I hope all of my ‘N A Perfect World readers are having a day filled with happiness. xxNn
