As I mentioned in my previous post on my stay at the Draycott hotel. I love London. Maybe that all changed when I got an Oyster card, but London, like Milan, is another city where I simply feel at home.
This time around, I decided to change it up from my old haunts (bouncing between Notting Hill and East London and checked out some neighborhoods I’ve never hung in before like Clerkenwell, and namely Chelsea). Sure, I’ve gone to a great dinner and out clubbing in Chelsea before, but besides that I haven’t spent too much time there and like I briefly mentioned in my post on the Draycott, it was everything I expected and then some. In Chelsea, a quiet night out for me was attending parties at Blakes Below, like the launch or mega-model and muse Pat Cleveland’s book launch and getting posing tips from legendary society photographers like Dave Bennett and Richard Young. If I felt like staying out late, there was always a Kuwaiti oil tycoon will to gorge on oysters and champagnes with me. But what I really loved about Chelsea were days I spent walking around. From window shopping on Sloane’s Square and Kings Road to morning walks along the Thames and my favorite, just taking in all of the beautifully coloured and elegant homes. Here I am having a little fun with the colours of Chelsea.
