“this is a once in a lifetime thing you witness and see and Michael Jordan is one of them” – Calvan Fowler
I’m hanging out with Jordan expert and Bed Stuy store, Jordan Heads Brooklyn owner, Calvan Fowler talking Jordans, Be Like Mike the stock market and sneakerhead culture. Am I finally going to get my first pair of retro Js? Watch below!
It’s a rare day that I’m out and about in NYC without seeing a few people wearing Jordans. And who can forget that moment in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing when Buggin’ Out flipped on a Larry Bird jersey-wearing neighbor for stepping on his fresh new Jordans. Jordan is more than the man and the brand, it’s become a culture. As hip-hop culture became mainstream American culture, the Jordan brand transcended American culture too (have you seen the Japanese Jordan heads?!). Today, it’s no longer just a shoe for basketball players, NBA fans, or even fans of Michael Jordan. They’re a major accessory for “street fashion,” which means they’re everywhere. Inspired by the fresh kicks here is a prequel to my video at Jordan sneaker mecca, Jordan Heads Brooklyn, that’s coming to you soon! Let’s chat with some Jordan heads.
